Day 1: The Standard

Hello everyone and welcome to my 1st official blog post. My name is Garrett Gilbert a.k.a. The Beard and/or Hemercules. I wrote this post on Day 1/30 for my second round of Live Hard: Phase 1. This blog will be the first installment of my 30 day project I have planned for myself. The topics will range between 3 categories: Educate, Elevate or Entertain. I hope you all enjoy this bite sized look into my life.

Standards.

The Guy on the left had none. He was lazy, morbidly obese, careless and on a path to an early death. The guy on the right? He lives by standards. He lives life with intention and a new sense of urgency. He is always active, getting in the best shape of his life and he IS the standard by which people can measure possibility. The quote above is one of my favorite quotes of all time and it is one of the earliest impactful messages I heard during my first round of 75 Hard.

Garrett vs Hemercules: The Bitch vs. The Boss

The Bitch voice is what the creator of 75 Hard/Live Hard, Andy Frisella, calls the voice in your head that casts constant doubt. The voice that tells you that you're too tired to get up and go walk for 45 minutes. The voice who knows just what to say to get you to quit before you gain any momentum. Garrett (pictured on the left) was the epitome of The Bitch voice. Garrett always second guessed, questioned and doubted most of the decisions in his life that would bring him a brighter future. He would always quit things before they gained the momentum needed to succeed. He was lost and almost out of hope.

The Boss voice is the exact opposite of the Bitch voice. The Boss voice tells you to stay on path and pushes you to succeed in whatever you do. Hemercules is the epitome of The Boss Voice. Hemercules sets goals and does whatever is necessary to complete them. He doesn't quit and he radiates hope.

Who is Hemercules?

Hemercules is my newfound identity that inspires me each and every day to get up and execute tasks that will ultimately lead to a happier and healthier life for not only myself, but those around me. Hemercules is the face of hope and tranquility. He raises those around him up and supports whoever he can, however he can. Hemercules is my way of telling the world that I am in control now. I control what I am in control of and cast out the negativity in my life to the best of my ability.

The Goal.

The goal of this post and everything I do from this moment forward is to inspire people to pursue their own true potential. I will do this the three ways I know how, through education, elevation and entertainment. This all boils down to becoming the standard by which people can measure possibility and pursuing your own version of true potential. I did this and will continue to do this in my life. Now, it's your turn. I look forward to bringing you all on this journey with me and I'll talk to you tomorrow!
